Hey everyone!

Welcome to another awesome month of news from Enabling Independence! September was jam-packed with fun weekend activities, so let’s dive into all the excitement!

Important News!

We’ve got some big news! As part of our NDIS registration, we’ll be having an Audit. This means a professional will come in, check out what we’re doing, and make sure everything’s running smoothly. They might even chat with some of our participants and staff about how they feel about Enabling Independence. The Auditor might also want to check out our files and records. But don’t worry—this process is totally optional. If you don’t want to be part of it, you’ll need to let us know.

If you’d rather not be contacted by NDIS for the Audit, just send an email to Rosalie at rosalie.enablingindependence@gmail.com with your name and a message saying you want to OPT OUT.

Group Updates

What have our groups been up to lately? Here’s a quick recap!

Weekend Socials Our Music Lovers group had an amazing time visiting the Clovercrest Hotel for live music! We saw the band Generator play alongside Hill Valley, both rocking the stage!

Next up was Club Cool! A big group of us went to The Gov for more live music and good food. Then, we headed to Victor Harbor for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Festival! It was an epic day out—thanks to everyone who was ready so early! We got some great pics of everyone having fun!

Lastly, we had a blast at Club Unity, dancing the night away! Jonny even won a door prize, scoring a free drink and entry for next time—way to go, Jonny!

Day Options We’ve been making the most of the warmer weather with some awesome outdoor adventures. One highlight was visiting the Maggie Beer Farm Shop, where we had a lovely lunch by the river and explored the cookbook’s cool recipes!

We also visited the Hahndorf Farm Barn and got to learn about all sorts of adorable animals. They even gave us a ride on a tractor!

In our cooking sessions, we’ve made some delicious meals, including a tasty Mongolian stir-fry. We even cooked up some chicken wraps during our beach day at Semaphore—so yummy!

Upcoming Events!

There are some exciting events on the way, so make sure you don’t miss out!

Spooky season is here! We’re throwing our annual Halloween Party on Thursday, October 31st at Target Hill Hub. Dress up in your best costume for some trick-or-treating, a costume contest, and a pizza party! You can book your spot by phone, email, or online.

Trips Away and Holidays Our next trip is just around the corner! We’re heading to Victor Harbor for a weekend getaway, and there are only a few spots left! If you want to join us, let us know ASAP by phone, email, or online.

That’s it for September 2024! We’ll be back with more updates once October wraps up. As always, feel free to reach out if anything important comes up!
