Mel

Support Worker

Hi, my name is Mel, and I’m a friendly, reliable and compassionate support worker, who genuinely enjoys helping people live more independent and fulfilling lives. I’m easy to talk to, patient, and always try to bring a calm and positive attitude. I became a support worker because I’m passionate about making a real difference in people’s day-to-day lives.

I chose to work in disability support because I’ve always enjoyed helping people and building genuine connections with others. I wanted a job where I could make a real difference, whether that’s helping someone build independence, supporting them to reach their goals, or simply being someone they feel comfortable and supported around. Seeing the positive impact that good support can have on a person’s confidence and wellbeing is what drew me to being a support worker.

I bring a caring, patient, and reliable approach to my work as a support worker. I understand how important it is for participant’s to feel comfortable, respected, and genuinely supported, so I always aim to build trusting relationships and create a positive environment. I am a good listener, easy to talk to, and able to adapt my support to suit each individuals needs, preferences and goals.

Outside of work I love spending time with my family and friends, going to the football, and relaxing with my dog Cavi, who is a big part of my life.
