Our Kitchen Rules

Become a cooking master with confidence in our fortnightly cooking program, Our Kitchen Rules. A fun and supportive space where learning and skill building come together in a way that is designed to be inclusive and hands on. Each class focuses on creating easy and delicious recipes that you can recreate at home. 

Lead by our resident chef, Tony, you will develop practical kitchen skills, learn how to safely prep food, and build independence in a way that feels achievable and empowering. Whether it’s your first time cooking or you’re wanting to grow your confidence in the kitchen, each class is tailored to support your individual goals while working together as a team. 

The program runs fortnightly on Tuesday nights, with two alternating groups so you can choose which week to join based on what suits you best. Come and be a part of Our Kitchen Rules where you can cook, connect with others, and build lifelong skills in a welcoming and supportive environment. 

More than just a Cooking Class

Our Kitchen Rules is more than just a fun cooking class, it’s about building the skills and confidence to live more independently. Each class is designed to support you in developing practical everyday kitchen skills in a way that feels achievable, inclusive and enjoyable. 

 

Working together as a team alongside our resident chef Tony, you’ll learn how to prepare delicious meals while building confidence in kitchen safety. Each fortnight, you’ll develop practical everyday living skills from planning, shopping for ingredients, and preparing a healthy meal and dessert.

 

You’ll be supported to work as part of a team, strengthening your confidence, communication, and decision-making skills, with the opportunity to choose what you’d like to cook in the next class. Along the way, you’ll be able to create connections with others, share experiences, and be part of a welcoming, supportive community.

Build Real Life Cooking Skills

Learn practical, everyday cooking skills like safely prepping food, measuring out ingredients, following easy recipes, and creating healthy, balanced meals you can confidently recreate at home. 

Grow Your Independence

Develop more confidence and independence in the kitchen from planning and choosing meals, shopping for ingredients, cooking safely, and cleaning up as a team afterwards.

Improve Your Social Confidence

Grow your social skills and communication by engaging in a group activity that is centred around teamwork, building friendships, and gaining confidence in social settings.
