Hi, I’m Rosalie! I’ve been working in the disability sector for 25 years, starting out as a support worker and group facilitator, and growing from there into project management, large-scale event coordination, and now Operations Manager here at Enabling Independence. I still provide hands-on support when needed, because staying connected to the real work is something I never want to lose. Outside of work I’m a busy mum of four with a love of animals of all kinds, especially my dog Annie, plus a passion for creative projects and a long-held dream of doing a lap of Australia in a motorhome.
It has never felt like just a job, it’s always been a calling. I started on the ground as a support worker and group facilitator, and that foundation has shaped everything I’ve done since. I also have a deep personal connection to the disability sector through my own family, which means I bring both professional experience and genuine lived understanding to the work. I believe every person deserves support that truly respects their individuality, their goals, and their right to independence, and that belief has never wavered.
I understand this sector from the ground up. I’ve done the hands-on shifts, led the programs, organised large-scale community events, managed the teams, and built the systems. That breadth means I can connect authentically with clients and families while also ensuring the organisation operates with the quality and integrity they deserve. I’m organised, calm under pressure, a clear communicator, and genuinely committed to doing things properly.
I love interior design and am currently in the thick of planning a new home build in the beautiful Barossa Valley. I have a great eye for detail and a knack for making spaces feel welcoming and personal. When I’m not doing that, you’ll find me cooking, getting lost in a good book, catching up with friends, swimming, or exploring somewhere new. I’m also a big fan of a bit of trashy TV to wind down, and above all I love spending time with my family and my dog Annie.
As someone who manages this organisation and also steps in as a support worker, I have a perspective that not many people in this field can offer. I understand what families go through when they’re looking for the right support – the hope, the worry, the wanting to get it right. I bring that same care and attention whether I’m in a meeting or sitting alongside a client. I also have a daughter who receives NDIS support and a son with complex mental health concerns which means this work is deeply personal to me. You’re not just a client here, you’re the whole reason we do what we do.
