Hi my name is Chance, I was born in New Zealand, I have two little girls and I love helping others and meeting new people. I am stepping back in the support role after a few years in another career as I miss being able to support others out in the community and help towards improving quality of life as well as maintaining participants’ independence.
Â
I chose working in disability support because I have a love for making people happy and including everyone. I find it rewarding to support people to become more independent and help them achieve their goals while treating everyone with respect and compassion.
Â
Strengths that I bring to work are patience, honesty, an open mind, kindness and the ability to adapt to the different situations, people and places that I cross paths with.
Â
I enjoy playing netball, rugby, volleyball and going to the gym. I feel like staying active helps us be our best selves physically as well as mentally. I also enjoy reading, going out to eat and spending time with my beautiful little family.
Â
Although new situations can feel uncertain and overwhelming, every beginning is an opportunity to learn and grow. It’s okay to not have all the answers right away. With time, patience, and each small step forward, things become more familiar and easier to manage.
