Hey, I’m Chelsea! I’ve been working in disability support for a little while now, and I can honestly say it’s the most rewarding and fulfilling job I’ve ever had. I love supporting people to enjoy life, try new things, build confidence, and feel genuinely valued and understood. I’m naturally compassionate, easy-going, and always aim to bring positive energy and a smile into every day. Building genuine, long-lasting connections with clients and creating a safe, fun, and supportive environment where people feel comfortable being themselves is one of my favourite parts of this role. I’m someone who gets excited seeing others happy and enjoying themselves, whether that’s through hobbies like gaming, animals, music and dancing, community activities, trying something new, or simply sharing a laugh together.
I chose disability support because I’ve always had a deep empathy for others and a genuine love for helping people. I wanted a job where I could make a meaningful difference in people’s lives every single day and help people feel happy, confident and supported. What I love most about this work is all of the truly incredible and inspiring people I spend time with, and being able to bring positivity and encouragement into their day, celebrate their wins with them, and support them to live fulfilling lives. Since starting in this role, I honestly can’t believe I didn’t do it sooner, and can’t imagine myself doing anything else now.
I bring an uplifting attitude, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting people to live fulfilling and independent lives. I value building strong relationships and creating an environment where people feel listened to and respected. I’m adaptable, reliable, and person-centred in my support approach, with strong communication skills and a warm, positive personality. I always aim to bring kindness, encouragement, and fun into everything I do while making a meaningful difference in people’s everyday lives.
I truly am happiest when learning about what excites other people. Outside of work, animals are one of my biggest passions, and I love spending time with my pets and anything animal-related. I also enjoy arts and crafts, drawing, cooking, baking, board games, video games, movies, anime, and collecting manga. I love sharing interests and creating positive experiences with the people I support, whether that’s getting creative together, going out into the community, having a laugh, or trying something new, I’m always there cheering you on so we can enjoy each experience to the fullest together.
My goal as a support worker is to help people feel confident, supported, and comfortable being themselves. I believe trust, patience, and genuine connection are at the heart of great support, and I always aim to bring warmth, encouragement, and fun into every day.
